Photographer Marco Giovanelli lives to discover the beauties of the planet and make them immortal; to represent the spirit of every magical corner of the world and every culture.
Marco Giovanelli was born in Como, Italy in 1981. His passion for photography and his love and fascination for Asia led him to face a six month journey through this continent to capture new ideas for his photos and projects. He is a member of Shoot4Change, a nonprofit organization made out of pro and amateur photographers and other artists who give some of their time to shoot humanitarian reportages for NGOs and other social organisations.
His photos from his reportage of Jarkarta slums will be shown at the next Shoot4Change exhibition, 5th – 31st July 2012, at Soho Photo Gallery, New York. There are over 30 photographers involved, including children, students, amateurs and National Geographic professionals. Its aim is to raise awareness of social issues in forgotten regions of the world, with proceeds to local projects and other charitable causes.
Although Marco has participated in several photo contests with good results and his pictures have been published in photography magazines, photography is not yet his profession – it’s his dream to turn his hobby into a real business.
